Graeme D’Andrade is a Toronto-based oil painter whose work examines how contemporary perception is shaped by technology, mass psychology, and the unseen forces in everyday life. He approaches painting as a disciplined craft rather than a vehicle for predetermined ideas, letting meaning surface through the physical act of making. His images emerge from technical experiments—manipulations of light, depth, and texture that carry traces of labor and the unpredictability he relies on to stay curious.
Exploring the tension between the tactile world of paint and the increasingly mediated realities people inhabit, Graeme sees art as a kind of esoteric practice, a way of interfacing with mystery and transformation through material engagement. His current work extends this philosophy into broader questions of attention, influence, and the fragile boundaries of the self in the digital age.
